Designing, Developing, and Delivering Learning Objects
($1,000 per day plus travel)
Offered as a one-day or two-day event, this workshop provides faculty and instructional support staff with a detailed overview of learning objects as learning resources, along with the design and the development process. The two-day event provides learners with hands-on development sessions in which workshop staff help to mentor new developers through their first script design and development.

Macromedia Flash Workshop for Beginners
($1,500 per day plus expenses)
This two-day workshop is taught by two multimedia technicians who have built hundreds of learning objects and Web interfaces for the Wisconsin Online Resource Center.
Macromedia Flash is the media of choice for today’s animated and interactive websites. It is also the software of choice for Web-based multimedia applications for instruction.
Faculty and staff who participate in this two-day workshop practice basic skills for building Web and instructional applications. Instructors will demonstrate how to use the tools; build basic animations, images, and interactions; and create a functioning application.

Macromedia Flash Workshop for Intermediate Builders
($1,500 per day plus expenses)
This two-day workshop is taught by two multimedia technicians who have built hundreds of learning objects and Web interfaces for the Wisconsin Online Resource Center.
FLASH MX -INTERMEDIATE provides experienced Flash builders with information and hands-on experience building robust learning objects in Flash. Students use action-scripting, built-in components, and Flash interaction to improve their skills while building animated and interactive objects. This workshop is taught by multimedia technicians who have built hundreds of learning objects and Web interfaces for the Wisconsin Online Resource Center. (www.wisconline.org)
Note: Participants need to have completed the Macromedia Flash Basic workshop or have experience in the basic applications of Flash.

Repository Hosting and Building
The Wisc-Online repository and its tools can be replicated with your branding and hosted by Wisc-Online. Tools for uploading, storing metadata, and customizing the interface are included.

Learning Object Building
The Wisc-Online instructional designer, editor, and technical developers will build learning objects to your specifications. Most objects are built in the latest version of Macromedia Flash to optimize the finished objects for the Web. We build the object from your content or from customer-supplied scripts.
(A learning object typically costs $500 to $700 when developed from production-ready scripts and media supplied by the customer.)

Learning Object Licensing
The learning objects of the Wisconsin Online Resource Center (Wisc-Online) are open and free for linking from the repository. Customers periodically request that Wisc-Online objects be hosted on customer sites.

(Objects may be hosted by individuals on their sites for a fee of $15 per learning object per year. Licensed objects may be linked, but not downloaded, from customer sites.)

Template Tools
Wisc-Online has developed templates for developing your own website to link Wisc-Online learning objects and other Web resources. This tool is provided for faculty at no cost.
Wisc-Online has developed templates that allow faculty and trainers to create surveys, quizzes, case studies, and information-based objects using a WYSISWYG (What You See Is What You Get) Flash object generator. These objects can be built and used for a 30-day trial. To use instructor-created templated objects after 30 days, a one-time cost of $10 will be charged to maintain the repository.
