Why is the letter A used to denote mass number?
I believe the "a" represents an Atomic mass unit (amu): A unit used to express the mass of an atom equal to exactly one-twelfth the mass of a carbon-12 atom.
A is the atomic mass number
Why does symbol of mass number is given A
the A stands for the amu, the atomic mass number
