In this learning activity you'll review safety considerations for using hydraulic press brakes.
Units of Measurement
By Barbara Anderegg
In this learning activity you'll explore units of measurement.
Metric Micrometer
By scott vanhulle
The learner will measure and record dimensions using a metric micrometer to an accuracy of plus or minus .01 of a millimeter.
Grinding Wheel Markings
In this learning object you'll explore wheel markings identifying the major factors in grinding wheel selection.
Firewall: Stateful Packet Inspection
By Joseph Wetzel, Douglas Tabbutt
In this learning activity you'll examine a stateful packet inspection firewall that keeps track of legitimate Internet service requests, also known as dynamic packet filtering.
Calculating Board Feet
By Patrick Molzahn
Learners review the process for calculating board feet and use virtual samples to practice the process.
Using a Lumber Rule
Learners read how to use a lumber rule to quickly and accurately estimate board feet. They then use virtual samples to practice the process.
Stain Measurement & Calculating Angles of Impact
By Daniel Feucht
In this learning object the student will learn how to measure a stain and calculate angles of impact. Determining the angle of impact for bloodstains takes advantage of the trigonometric functions (Sine function).
A mathematical relationship exists between the width and length of an elliptical bloodstain which allows for the calculation of the angle of the impact for the original spherical drop of blood.
Given well formed stains we can accurately measure the width and length by simply dividing the stain along it’s major and minor axis. The opposite halves would be generally equal to each other which aids in establishing the impact angle.
Voltage and Resistors
By Tim Tewalt
This is an animated troubleshooting exercise that takes voltage measurements to determine the fault of three different series circuits. There are six review questions that enable the learner to determine the effectiveness of the troubleshooting presentation.
Characteristics of Meaningful Measures of Assessments
Meaningful measures administered by learner-centered teachers represent a multiple and varied body of evidence. Match the terms to the definitions to learn about the categories that make up meaningful measures of assessment.
Vernier Caliper
The learner will practice reading a Vernier caliper.
