Transactional Communication Model: Assessment Activity

Learners read about nonverbal communication. In a drag-and-drop exercise, they evaluate photos of people interacting and determine if the behaviors shown interfere with communication or enhance it.
In this animated activity, learners examine what gases are composed of and how their particles interact. They also consider several assumptions that form the basis for the Kinetic Theory of Gases.
Learners see and hear how motivation on the job can be compared to the use of a bicycle. They then write an explanation of how this theory can be applied to a situation in their own workplace.

They select examples of ambiguity, assuring expressions, doublespeak euphemisms, jargon, emotive content, false implications, meaningless comparisons, and vagueness. In an interactive exercise, learners identify ways to overcome these barriers.
